Well, I watched a small trailer on youtube and this looks promising.  I’ll watch the first few and see how it goes.

Went for a show last night.  If you know who Allan Perera and Indi Nadarajahi are then you know it was a good time.  This particular show, “We Don’t Swear” is the second time I have seen them live.

I dont get some of the jokes but much of their comedy is based on general manerisms and expression.  That said, the current show is VERY heavy on local & CURRENT politics.

Sat in the middle section toward the left side SECOND row.  Its a small theater that I guess only seats about 200+ so all seats are “good” seats.

After picking on EVERYONE including the “white man” I think it was ME that got a bow and nod from Allan.

Heh.  I seriously doubt it was guilt! ha!  

Other than a handful of Chinese I was the only NON Indian there, or at least I didnt see anyone else but Indians.  But I think anyone could enjoy it as they didnt hold back on anyone.

I struggle sometimes to think of a proper catagory for posts like this....

Am I the only one that will think of this: 

Been driving around looking at houses for sale taking advantage of the current holiday week to do it (less traffic).  What holiday?  Chinese New Year or CNY.

In several neighborhoods we found a group doing the dance in homes.  You could tell where the next house was by the items arranged in/around the home or the obvious tent outside.  One dance "crew" might visit several homes in one area keeping quite busy.

History

The lion dance originated in China close to a thousand years ago. The lion is traditionally regarded as a guardian creature. It is featured in Buddhist lore, being the mount of Manjusri. There are different variations of the lion dance in other Asian cultures including mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore, with each region possessing their own styles.

There are a number of Chinese lion dance styles; the two most popular are the northern and southern.

Northern dance was used as entertainment for the imperial court. The northern lion is usually red, orange, and yellow (sometimes with green fur for the female lion), shaggy in appearance, with a golden head. The northern dance is acrobatic and is mainly performed as entertainment.

Southern dance is more symbolic. It is usually performed as a ceremony to exorcise evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune. The southern lion exhibits a wide variety of colour and has a distinctive head with large eyes, a mirror on the forehead, and a single horn at center of the head.

The Lion dance is often confused with the Chinese Dragon Dance, which features a team of around ten or more dancers. The Lion Dance usually consists of two people.

Thought about making the title "Im lovin it" as the monkey was eating some McD's from a dumpster dive venture.  I guess its from "dumpster diving" because monkeys dont carry wallets  :)   Another title might have been "shock the monkey" with some Peter Gabriel background music.

Anyway, its my first monkey sighting!  Out of a cage anyway.  Got me thinking....

Normally, its just dogs and cats MAYBE a raccoon that rummage through the trash making a mess.  Now dogs will just usually run away.  Cats?  You can kick them if they dont run off.  Raccoon?  Usually stop by at night.  Its the monkey that would bother me.

Why?

Well, not really bothered but imagine it.  They can move fast, yell back, and hold or throw all the same weapons you can.  Sharp teeth and basically four hands.  hahaha.  Beware the trash digging monkey!  Temperment of a squirrel but more dangerous!  We all know how those squirrels are.

Quick background... actor sexes it up with stewardess during flight on his way to promote safe sex.  If you know who Ralph Fiennes is then the title of this blog is funny.  Think about it.  Or just go here

 I knew it!

KUALA LUMPUR: They were not the fastest nor the strongest participants in The Amazing Race Asia (TARA).

They were not even the smartest, but Tee Joe Jer and Zabrina Fernandez caught the imagination of most Malaysians watching the first-ever TARA over AXN on Astro with their never-say-die personalities.
In the final episode which saw both Malaysian teams making it to the final three (the other team represented Hong Kong), they made history by becoming the first winners of TARA.

MY COMMENTS:

Congrats to them!  I watched half or a little more than half of the season
and wondered if they were gonna win... rumors being what they were.  I
think it is a bit harsh to say they are not the "smartest" even though it is
probably not intended as an insult.  Anywhoo, I also had noticed there was
a certain VW moved from its normal spot and just SITTING...  with "congrats"
written in the dust that had accumulated.


Early evidence of a winner?

Soooo... with that and comments from others I had a feeling who was likely
to win.  Should have made some bets!

Now, what will they do with the money?  Do they need a new friend? Hm...
Perhaps they need someone to take that car off her hands.  Actually, don't
know what the deal is but a whitey, like me, was the one driving it... so I'm
thinking she doesnt like it anyway.  <wink>
